Community (or group) Acupuncture:
Acupuncture has been a community based medicine for most of its long history in Asia. Practiced in group rather than individual settings, acupuncture is most effective when it’s received frequently and regularly. Community acupuncturists focus on using “distal” points (below the knee and elbow, and on the head and neck) so that participants can remain fully clothed and return to work or activities following treatment.
Nutrition and Preventive Health Seminars:
What you eat and how you eat, as well as how you take care of your physical and mental health each day determines the quality of your ongoing health and your susceptibility to illness and disease. Knowing the nutritional parameters that will provide the optimal level of protein, fats and sugar to maintain health, the healing properties of food, how to balance blood sugar, and reduce fatigue and stress, will provide a solid foundation on which to build optimal health.
Lunch and Learns:
Our wellness practitioners bring insight on a variety of topics to the program. Introductions to complementary health practices such as Chinese Medicine,
Qi Gong, reflexology, acupressure, and breathing techniques to reduce pain and stress and increase energy will be presented in a short and informative format to provide employees new tools to take with them and implement into their lifestyle.
Newsletters:
Customized newsletters are available as an adjunct to the wellness services provided in our program. Nutrition and preventive health tips, current news and research in health, as well as strategies to improve lifestyle habits and reduce risk factors can be incorporated to fit your needs.
